[1] in a forest dominated by Betula platyphylla var. japonica and Quercus mongolica near Tokai University Dai-yon High School on July 31 2009. The species is a poisonous plant (有毒植物) to humans. [2] on Usujiri Skislope, southern Hokkaido, on June 16 2015.
