Pseudosasa Makino (ヤダケ)
Yadake (ヤダケ, 矢竹/箭竹), arrow bamboo, or yadake
Lifeform: evergreen short bamboo ≈ 2-5 m tall
Distribution: central and southern Korea - Japan (south to Honshu)
Habitat: developing bamboo thickets
Leaf: with 20-30 cm long, hairless
Untilization: arrow for Japanese archery, and others
Synonyms:

Sasa japonica (Siebold et Zucc. ex Steud.) Makino
Arundinaria japonica Siebold et Zucc. ex Steud.

var. purpurascens Nakai (ムラサキヤダケ)
cultivars: cv. flavo-variegata (キシマヤダケ), cv. tsutsumiana (ラッキョウヤダケ): erupted nodes; firstly reported from Mito City, Ibaragi Prefecture, in 1934
