Lifeform: evergreen needle-leaved tree
Distribution: Mainly Hokkaido (Sakhalin, Kunashiri, Shikotan, and Mt Hayachine in Honshu)
Habitat: nutrient-poor ecosystems, e.g., bogs, volcanoes, and serpentine zones (蛇紋岩帯)
