Any of the sciences that deal with the earth or with one or more of its parts
Eearth planetary science includes planetary sicence on solar system
Earth consisting of four spheres
- atmosphere (気圏) → meteorology (気象学)
- hydrosphere (水圏) → oceanography (海洋学)
- lithosphere (岩圏) → geology (地質学) [petrology (岩石学), mineralogy (鉱物学), stratigraphy (層序学), etc.]
- biosphere (生物圏) → ecology (生態学)
Geophysics (地球物理学)
= geochemistry (地球化学) + biogeochemistry (生物地球科学)
