Kingyosou (キンギョソウ, 金魚草)

Lifeform: herbaceous perennial forb (may become annual in cold regions)
Distribution: Native to the Mediterranean region (exotic to Japan)
Habitat: escaped from gardens (in the case of Japan)

Varieties

- subsp. majus: Southern France, northeast Spain. - subsp. cirrhigerum (Ficalho) Franco: Southern Portugal - southwest Spain
- subsp. linkianum (Boiss. et Reut.) Rothm.: endemic in western Portugal
- subsp. litigiosum (Pau) Rothm.: southeastern Spain
- subsp. tortuosum (Bosc) Rouy.: throughout the Mediterranean
