Fireweed
Epilobium angustifolium L. [Onagraceae]

The English common name is derived from the abundance soon after wildfire
Yanagiran (ヤナギラン, 柳蘭)

Lifeform: perennial forb
Distribution: throughout the temperate and cool Northern Hemisphere
Habit: pioneer species soon after disturbance, such as clearcutting, wildfire, and landslide

Varieties

- subsp. circumvagum Mosquin (ウスゲヤナギラン)
- f. pleniflorum (Nakai) H.Hara (ヤエザキヤナギラン)
- f. albiflorum H. Hara (シロバナヤナギラン)
