Yatchiyanagi (ヤチヤナギ, 谷地柳): that means 'wetland willow' but is not willow

Lifeform: deciduous shrub
Distribution (M. gale): Europe - temperate Asia, including northern Japan - northern America
Habitat: typically in acidic peat bog
Nitrogen-fixing plant by actinobacteria
