Lifeform: evergreen herb-like shrub
Distribution: East Asia, including Japan
Habitat: forest floor


Pachysandra Michx.

There are five natives to eastern Asia.
One species in this genus, i.e., P. terminalis, is distributed in Japan.

This species is unpalatable for deer, and thus becomes widespread. In Nakajima Island close to Mount Usu on July 21 2005.
