You must understand safety procedures for field trips. To avoid any accidents, fill in as much information as possible. Confirm the insurance policy of graduate school and univeresity.

Field Trips (outdoor)

  • Use your common sense
  • Wear appropriate footwear and clothing
  • Watch where you are walking
  • Do not climb up high, without any safety tools
  • Watch out vermins (害虫)

First aid (救急法)


The assistance given to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and/or promote recovery

Basic life support (BLS)

The level of medical care which is used for victims of life-threatening illnesses or injuries until they can be given full medical care at a hospital

ABC of BLS
  • Circulation: providing an adequate blood supply to tissue, especially critical organs, so as to deliver oxygen to all cells and remove metabolic waste, via the perfusion of blood throughout the body
  • Airway: the protection and maintenance of a clear passageway for gases (principally oxygen and carbon dioxide) to pass between the lungs and the atmosphere
  • Breathing: inflation and deflation of the lungs (respiration) via the airway

Accident countermeasures (Insurance)


To protect you from any accidents in outdoor researches, we strongly recommend that you join security insurance described below. The insurance covers 5 million yen in the maximum.

To take "Field training on integrated environmental research", the affilitation of the insurance is prerequisite.

The second purpose of this insurance is "rescue support". That is why this insurance inclues supplementary contract for rescue (10 million yen).

How to apply (2010)

Ask to your classmate who understand Japanese, please. However, the applicatin procedure is not so difficult. What you need is your personal information (full name, birth date, age, sex, and title) and money.

Insurance due = ¥4,810 (per annum)

When the application is completed, you obtain the certificate. Keep it!

Call to Service Center, anyway! In 2010, the phone number is "0120-011-313 (24 hr, toll free)" (Ace Insurance). Before you call, check your certificate.
