Noazami (ノアザミ, 野薊), Japanese thistle
Life form: tall perennial forb ≈ 0.5-1 m high, producing rosettes
Distribution: widespread in the Asian Continent, including Japan (south to Honshu)
Habitat: grasslands, river beds, etc.
Flower: in spring (the other Cirsium species do not produce in spring)
Chromosome number: 2n = 17
