Life form: biennial forb, producing rosette
Distribution: northeastern China - southern Siberia - Ussuri - Korea - Japan (north to Nagano Prefecture)
Habitat: sunny sites, such as grasslands, riverbanks and forest edges
Chromosome number: 2n = 34
Synonyms:

Cirsium pendulus (Fisch. ex DC) Maxim.
