Lifeform: deciduous perennial forb

I thought this species was similar with Polygonum sachalinense (オオイタドリ) that may occupy the same niche with P. alaskanum in Japan

Distribution: eastern Russia - Yukon
Habitats: meadows, slopes and ridges. Widespread after wildfire (森林火災) on Poker Flat
Seed dispersal: wind
Synonyms:

Aconogonon alaskanum (Small.) Sojak.
