Lifeform: deciduous tree ≈ 10-12 m tall
Distribution: Himalaya - China - Japan (south to Honshu)
Habitat: forests
Leaf: adverse ↔ C. controversa: alternate
Flowering: later than C. controversa when they co-establish
Synonyms:

Thelycrania brachypoda (C. A. Mey.) Pojark. Swida macrophylla (Wall.) Soják Cornus brachypoda C. A. Mey.
