Distribution: native to Europe faced to the Mediterranean

Japan: firstly reported in the late Meiji Era
Hokkaido: Blue List category B

Habitat: roadsides
Chromosome number: 2n = 12
Utilization: cultivated as an ornamental plant → escaped
Synonyms:

Antirrhinum purpureum L., basionym (→ Linaria purpurea (L.) Mill.)
