Penstemon Mitch. (タルマエソウ, beard-tongue)
Tarumaesou (タルマエソウ, 樽前草): The name comes from Mount Tarumae (樽前山) where this species was firstly recorded
Iwabukuro (イワブクロ, 岩袋)
Lifeform: clonal, deciduous forb
Distribution: Japan (Tohoku-Hokkaido districts)
Habitat: subalpine-alpine

Common on volcanoes (火山) in northern Japan (Titus & Tsuyuzaki 2002)
