Lifeform: perennial forb
Distribution: Far East - Korea - Japan (Hokkaido and northern Honshu faced to Japan Sea) - Sakhalin - Primorye - Kuril
Habitat: rocky and sandy habitats near seacoasts (海浜)
Stem: developing wing ↔ S. kakudensis: no wing
Chromosome number: 2n = 94
Synonyms (Hultén 1968):

Scrophularia alata A. Gray var. borealikoreana (Nakai) Kitag.
Scrophularia grayana Maxim. ex Kom.
Remarks: not a later homonym of Scrophularia alata Gilib. (1782), nom. inval.
