Chishimazasa (チシマザサ, 千島笹), Kuril dwarf bamboo
Lifeform: evergreen dwarf shrub
Distribution: Korea - Japan (east to Mount Daisen, Tottori Pref.) - Sakhalin
Habitat: Sasa shrub / forest floor. (The forest floor of Betula ermanii is often covered completely with S. kurilensis.)
