Hanegaya (ハネガヤ, 羽茅)
Lifeform: turfed, large, perennial grass with 60-200 cm tall
Distribution: China - Far East - Korea - Japan (Honshu and Hokkaido) - Sakhalin - southern Kuril
Habitat: grasslands, secondary forests, etc.
Synonyms:

Achnatherum pekinense (Hance) Ohwi, used when separated from Stipa
Achnatherum extremiorientale (H. Hara) Keng ex P. C. Kuo
Achnatherum effusum (Maxim.) Y. L. Chang
