Lifeform: deciduous tree ≈ 7 m tall
Origin: southern China → introduced to Japan in Edo Era → frost tolerant
Habitat: semi-shaded places, rich fields, wild or cultivated
Seed dispersal: wind using wing
Chromosome number: 2n = 48 or 50
