Distribution: native to North America (exotic to Japan)
Growth: growing relatively faster than the other maples, and short-lived

[1/2] in Hokkaido University Campus in the fall of 2004, many boxelder trees were blown down in a typhoon. We can see typical maple seeds, i.e., winged seeds, were produced. On September 19 2007. [3] a street tree at N30/E20, East Ward, Sapporo, on August 14 2016 (bark, 樹皮). [4] in a Hokko Green Space, East Ward, Sapporo, on September 1 2018. [5] between GSEES to Coop Central Restaurant in HU Campus on April 27 2020. [6] a terminal shoot at the backyard of GSEES on April 15 2022.
