Syorima (ショリマ)
Lifeform: long-rhizomatous, summergreen fern
Distribution: temperate regions, including Japan
Habitat: wetlands, grassy marshlands, streamsides, etc.
Leaf: dimorphic, 40-80 cm long

fertile frond: slim, leaf length ≈ 30 cm long

Leaf stalk (petiole): 20-40 cm long
Lateral vein: dichotomous and hairless (number of veins, 中軸分岐数)
Chromosome number: n= 35, or 36, 2n = 70 (diploid)
