Origin of English common name (attn.): the tatse is similar with that of Nasturtium. However, Nasturtium is a genus in Brassicaceae.
Life form: annual forb
Distribution: native to the South America (Peru, Chile and Brazil) → exotic to Japan
Habitat: tropical alpine, i.e., the Andes → intolerant to high temperature > 25°C (also intolerant to cold)
Flower color: orange, yellow, red, pink, etc.
Utilization: herb for vegetable and gardening
