Lifeform: perennial forb living with mycorrhizal fungi (菌根菌)
Distribution: Endemic to Japan (northern Japan, including southern Kuril)
Habitat: Sphagnum bog ⇒ Wetland (湿原)
var. conformis (F. Maekawa) F. Maekawa ex H. Hara et M. Mizushima (キリガミネアサヒラン): upward flower, not in Hokkaido, RDB = EN
f. albiflora T. Ito (シロバナサワラン): white flower
