Ezonyu, or Ezoniu (エゾニュウ, エゾニウ), bear's angelica
Life form: perennial forb ≈ 3 m high
Distribution: Siberia - northern Japan (central and north Honshu and Hokkaido)

Field training on integrated environmental research (統合環境調査法実習) (fauna and flora 種リスト)
observed many shoots in Horonobe Town (幌延町), northern Hokkaido
never seen it in the campus of Hokkaido University

Habitat: grasslands and sunny forest floors
Chromosome number: 2n = 22 (2x)
