Stellaria L. (ハコベ)
Midorihakobe (ミドリハコベ, 緑繁縷), greater chickweed
Lifeform: annual/biennial forb < 30-60 cm high
Distribution: widespread in Eurasian Continent, including Japan
Habitat: damp, slightly-shady conditions; usually found in woodlands, hedges or stream banks
Flower: white, consisting of five sepals (looking like ten)
Chromosome number: 2n = 22
Use: edible → The seven spring herbs (春の七草)
Synonyms:

Stellaria media (L.) Vill. var. procera Klatt et Richt.
