Lifeform: annual or biennial forb
Distribution: endemic to Japan
Habitat: slightly-mesic sites, such as grasslands and coasts
Seed dispersal: self / endo-zoochore (animal)
Poison: alkaloids (protopine, sanguinarine, bicuculline, etc.)
Synonyms:

Corydalis heterocarpa Siebold et Zucc. var. simadae Ohwi (ヒゴキケマン), discarded, Kyushu

var. heterocarpa (ツクシキケマン), the type: Chugoku District - Kyushu Island
