Himekansuge (ヒメカンスゲ, 姫寒菅), miniature sedge
Lifeform: stoloniferous, evergreen, perennial sedge, flowering stalk < 40 cm high
Distribution: south Korea - Japan, including Hokkaido
Habitat: dry forest floor, and rocky streatch
Chromosome number: 2n = 36 (or 32 around Seto Inland Sea) and the others
var. conica, the type
var. scabrocaudata (T. Koyama) Hatus. (トカラカンスゲ), Tokara Islands and Uji Islands
var. rubens Kük. (ベニカンスゲ), when established
var. latifolia Hatsushima nom. nud. (ウジカンスゲ), when established ↔ merged into var. scabrocaudata, Uji Islands
