Cyperus L. (カヤツリグサ)
Kamigayatsuri (カミガヤツリ,紙蚊帳吊), papyrus sedge, paper reed, Indian matting plant or Nile grass
Life form: large, perennial sedge ≈ 4-5 m tall
Distribution: in the headstreams of River Nile, central Africa
Habitat: aquatic (swamps, river banks, and shallow lakes)
Seed dispersal: water (hydrochore)
Photosynthesis: C4
Use: making paper (by Ancient Egyptians), ornamental
