Hypericum L. (オトギリソウ)
Ookanadaogiri (オオカナダオトギリ, 大加奈陀弟切), large (Canadian) St. John's wort
Lifeform: annual/short-lived perennial forb with short leafy rhizomes
Distribution: central and northern North America (exotic to Japan)

firstly reported from Mukawa Town, Hokkaido in 1965 (Shimizu 1977)

Habitat: roadsides (establishing facultatively in wetlands, as in the native regions)
Flower: smaller petals than the other Hypericum species < 7 mm long
Synonyms:
