Iwabenkei (イワベンケイ, 岩弁慶), golden root or rose root
Lifeform: perennial forb
Distribution: widespread in the cold regions of the world, including northern Japan
Habitat: nutrient-poor rocky and sandy sites
Photosynthesis: CAM
Shoot: dioecious - having female (red flower) and male (yellow flower) shoots
