Lifeform: weedy, aquatic, perennial forb, producing winter buds
Distribution: Asia, including Japan - Australia - Europe - Africa
Habitat: lakes, ponds and streams
Use: phytoremediation, by abrorbing mercury, cadmium, chromium and lead
Chromosome number: 2n = 16 (2x) or 24 (3x)
