Lifeform: annual or biennial forb
Distribution: originally in Europe and eastern Asia

introduced to Japan in the late Edo Era / Hokkaido Blue List = B

Hatibat: sandy or loamy arable soils on wasteland, roadsides and fields (often near coasts)
Flavor: like a melon, water melon, or pineapple
Chromosome number: 2n = 18
