Cynosurus L. (クシガヤ)
Higegaya (ヒゲガヤ, 鬚茅), bristly dogstail grass, rough dog's-tail or hedgehog dogtail
Life form: annual grass
Distribution: native to southern Europe, north Africa, Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Middle East, Caucasus and Turkmenistan

Hokkaido Blue List: B, firstly reported from Horokanai (Hisauchi 1961)

Habitat: calcareous sand in the native regions (roadsides, open lands, etc. as an exotic)
