Serissa Comm. ex Juss. (ハクチョウゲ)
Hakuchouge (ハクチョウゲ, 白丁花), snowrose, tree of a thousand stars or Japanese boxthorn
Lifeform: evergreen, short tree with 0.5-1 m tall
Distribution: southeastern Asia, including China, Taiwan and Japan (Okinawa)
Habitat: monsoon forests, mountains and riverines
Use: gardening, bonsai and hedge
Synonyms:

Serissa foetida (L. f.) Poir. ex Lam., formerly used

Cultivars:

cv. crassiramea (ダンチョウゲ)
cv. variegata (フイリハクチョウゲ)
