Synonym of Molinia Schrank
One species in Japan when Moliniopsis is accepted
Numagaya (ヌマガヤ, 沼茅), Japanese moor grass
Life form: rhizomatous, caespitose perennial grass
Distribution: northern northeastern Asia (including Japan)
Habitat: wetlands (湿原), in particular, in bog
Succession: established in Rhynchospora alba grasslands in the early stages
Chromosome number: 2n = 50
