Lifeform: perennial sedge
Distribution: widespred in boreal regions in the Northern Hemisphere

Japan: Mount Hakkoda and Hokkaido

Habitat: boreal wetland (湿原), in particular, on bogs
Synonyms:

Baeothryon alpinum (L.) Egor.
Eriophorum alpinum L.
Leucocoma alpina (L.) Rydb.
Scirpus hudsonianus (Michx.) Fernald, often used

Association: Trichophorum alpinum - Sphagnum compactum var. inbricatum

Location: bogs in the Pacific Ocean side of Hokkaido
Dominant species: Carex lasiocarpa var. occultans
