Kibata-no-amana (キバナノアマナ, 黄花甘菜), yellow star of Bethlehem (amana means sweet vegetable)
Lifeform: spring-ephemeral perennial (flowering starts soon after snow melting) < 30 cm high, developing bulbs
Distribution: Europe - Asia, including Japan
Habitat: forest edge, grassland, etc.

RDB: endangered in the many southern prefectures of Japan

Chromosome number: 2n = 48
Use: rhizome - edible
