Acer L. (カエデ)
Urikaede (ウリカエデ, 瓜楓), hawthorn-leaf maple or uri maple
Lifeform: deciduous short tree ≈ 6-8 m tall
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to Fukushima Prefecture)
Habitat: forest edges, forest roadsides and sunny rigdes/slopes
Bark: green or greenish-brown, with narrow vertical white or pale grey stripes, when young
Synonyms, discarded:

- f. macrophyllum (H. Hara) Hayashi

Cultivars: veitchii (フイリウリカエデ) and Me uri no ofu
