Salicornia L. (アッケシソウ)
Akkeshisou (アッケシソウ, 厚岸草), (common) glasswort
Sangosou (サンゴソウ, 珊瑚草), Yachisango (ヤチサンゴ, 谷地珊瑚)
Lifeform: salt-tolerant, halophytic, annual forb (succulent halophyte)
Distribution: widespread in the cool temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, including Japan
Habitat: in salt marshes, on beaches and among mangroves

RDB: endangered (EN)

Seed: dimorphic (small and large grains), small = developing seedbank
Use: edible
