Firstly observed in Bonin Islands (shima) in early Taisho Era in the case of Japan

Lifeform: weedy perennial grass
Distribution: native to south America, commonly in pampa (now widespread in Japan except in Hokkaido)
Habitat: bare ground - grassland, tolerant to trampling
Chromosome number: 2n = 20, 40, or 50
