chino = shino (篠), jpn

Lifeform: (semi-)evergreen bamboo ≈ 1-2 m tall
Distribution: endemic to eastern Japan (south to southwestern Hokkaido - rare)
Use: gardening, hedge, etc. (often used for gardening in Sapporo)
