Sasa Makino et Shibata (ササ) Okuyamazasa (オクヤマザサ, 奥山笹) Ezonemagari (エゾネマガリ) Lifeform: evergreen dwarf shrub with 1-3 m in height Distribution: Japan (north to central Honshu and Hokkaido) and Sakhalin Habitat: growing on forest floors or developing dwarf bamboo shrubs, often on slopes

Synonyms: Sasa matsudae Nakai Sasa kurilensis (Rupr.) Makino et Shibata var. gigantea Tatew. Sasa cernua Makino, often used cv. nebulosa (シャコタンチク)
