Himemochi (ヒメモチ, 姫黐)
Life form: dioecious, evergreen shrub ≈ 1 m in height, dwarf-form adapted to snow
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to southwestern Hokkaido), mostly in Japan Sea side
Habitat: deciduous, broad-leaved forests
Seed dispersal: animal by red fruits
Synonyms:

Ilex integra Thunb. var. leucoclada Maxim.

f. angustifolia (Miyabe et Tatew.) H. Hara (ホソバヒメモチ), discarded
Ilex × makinoi H. Hara (オオツルツゲ)
