Lifeform: deciduous short tree, with less than 6 m in height
Distribution: endemic to Japan (central-south Honshu to Kyushu) or also in China (Sohayaki element, 襲速紀要素)
Habitat: forest understorey (森林)
Leaf: dimorphic, i.e., trilobe or not
Stem: pale flavor
Chromosome number: 2n = 24
Use: gardening, fuel by seed oil (used formerly)
