Yaeyama-aoki (ヤエヤマアオキ), Indian mulberry or great morinda
Lifeform: evergreen short tree, ≈ 8-10 m in height
Distribution: India- eastern Asia - Philippines - Taiwan - Japan (Bonin Islands and Ryukyu Islands) - Pacific Islands- eastern Australia (origin, Moluccas in Indonesia)
Habitat: widespread, e.g., forests, grasslands, open areas, abandoned pastures and coconut plantations
Seed dispersal: water (ocean current)
Use: ornamental and edible (fruit)
