Tachi-aoi (タチアオイ, 立葵), common hollyhock
Lifeform: tall perennial forb
Origin: imported from southwestern China to Europe before the 15th century, or Althaea setosa × pallida (A. setosa in Tukey, and A. pallida in eastern Europe)

→ developing many cultivars

Habitat: grasslands and roadsides (in Hokkaido)
