Kousui-hakka (コウスイハッカ, 香水薄荷)
Life form: perennial forb
Distribution: native to south-central Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean region, and Central Asia
Habitat: waste places and derelict land near human habitations
Flower: creamy white, pale yellow and pale pink
Flavor: citronellal, geranial, linalyl acetate, and caryophyllene Use: gardening, herb tea (melissa leaf), etc.
