Midorihakka (ミドリハッカ, 緑薄荷), spearmint
Lifeform: perennial forb, with 30-60 cm in height
Distribution: native to Europe (exotic to Japan)
Habitat: sunny and mesic grasslands
Chromosome number: 2n = 24
Synonyms:

Mentha viridis (L.) L.

var. crispa Benth. (オランダハッカ, s.s.) or
cv. crispa
Orandahakka (オランダハッカ, 阿蘭陀薄荷, s.s.)
Seiyouhakka (セイヨウハッカ, 西洋薄荷)
Distribuiton: introduced to Japan in Edo Era
Flower: white - pink - lavender
