Kakutoranoo (カクトラノオ)
Lifeform: rhizomatous, perennial forb
Distribution: originally distributed in North America between Mexico and Canada

introduced to Japan in Taisho Era

Habitat: often semi-naturalized on roadsides, open lands, etc.
Use: gardening → cultivars

Physostegia praemorsa Shinners, merged into P. virginiana ssp. praemorsa
Physostegia serotina Shinners

ssp. praemorsa (Shinners) Cantino, larger flowers, sterile bracts
