Lifeform: large, evergreen, perennial herb, ranging 1.5-2.5 m tall
Distribution: south America (southern Colombia - eastern Bolivia)
Habitat: forest edges, riverbanks and open, light‑filled gaps within the forests
Bract: upright and red with dark maroon or dark green line along lip
Stem: hairy
Use: ornamental
Cultivars: Garden of Eden, Pink Eden, Colombian Orange, Coral Sky, etc.
